Bank Holiday Weekend!

Hooray! - it's the start of a bank holiday weekend (almost). That means you should go and enjoy yourselves, like these dogs. You deserve it. It also means that we won't be sending out any more animal costumes until Tuesday, just so you know.
Here are a few ideas of things you can do in your animal costumes this weekend...

Go to Meadowlands Festival, in an animal costume...

It must be one of the earliest festivals in the calendar: Meadowlands - in Sussex - is an intimate festival in a beautiful setting, with a really promising and eclectic musical line-up. We'll be going, if the weather holds off. Obviously you should go in an animal costume. More details here.

Go out on a homemade raft, in an animal costume...

This is fun to do wherever you live. All you need is a river, a plank, and an animal costume. But if you live anywhere near Portrush Harbour in Norther Ireland, you can join in the fun with the Portrush Raft Race - a charity event in aid of the RNLI. Make a wacky homemade raft and race around the harbour to the finish line. Now that's definitely the sort of thing that people should be wearing animal costumes for.

Go to a food festival, in an animal costume...

If you're not quite ready for a music festival yet, there's a whole bunch of food festivals happening all over the country. Go to one in an animal costume, eat something delicious. What more could you want out of life?

Go for a picnic, in an animal costume...

The great thing about picnics is that you can have them anywhere. And the sandwiches - they're great too. Or better yet, go to the Big Picnic at Hampton Court Palace in Surrey. It's a picnic-themed event (duh), with entertainment for all the family lasting all weekend. A good one to go to if you're with kids (or if you are a kid): entertainment includes live music, sports day style challenges, a production of Canterbury Tales, and something to do with a leech.

Check out some street art, in an animal costume...

Check out Upfest in Bristol this weekend. Apparently it's Europe's largest live street art festival, which basically means a bunch of amazing street artists from all over the world - all painting in one place. Go in an animal costume, and maybe someone will paint you into their art.

That's all we've got for you - see you next week!
